HI All,

Apologies if I am posting this in the wrong place, or if it has been answered elsewhere.

I am booking a one way flight MEL - LHR. ITA is showing a Vietnam Airlines itinerary booking into a Z class fare, which is premium economy according to ITA. The price is ludicrously cheap - 1.2k one way. However I can't get this fare to price up on the vietnam airlines site (only economy flex) and my trawling of the web has not found this fare available on any comparison site.

Does anyone have any insight into how I can get this sort of itinerary booked?

Pierre

You didn't give a date but I threw a random one in on Skyscanner (4/10) asking for Y+ and sure enough it came up as $1256 booked through Direct Flights. States Y+(Z) MEL-SGN and SGN-LHR and Y ( B) class SGN-HAN

I didn't note the layovers...but watch out...some VN itins have LOOONG ones!

I'm looking at May 26th/28th - its pricing up a 4.7k on the 26th and showing no availability on the 28th. However ITA shows us availability. I'm wondering if its a mistake as its competitive with most other Y fares for the same trip.

Wow... ive never booked a flight that close in.... That fare just doesn't seem to be available...

The $1200-ish fare reappears on 1 June...but with an insanely long layover in SGN

Big Edit: Can you get up to SYD? On the 26th and 28th on VN...Y+ all the way for $1225...not bad layover either.

Thanks Trooper. In the end I booked a J award return between Mel - Dxb with a paid y return dxb - Lhr. All up 1.7k of which over 700 was the bloody award redemption fee. I was limited to 200k points and fairly inflexible on time, so reasonably happy with this result.
