If I book a flight in business class on QF1 or QF9 and have a connecting BA UK domestic flight, does it get booked in business class as well? This would be all on the one PRN. I'm trying to work out if I'd be able to go to the lounge in T5 while I'm waiting. I know that on BA booked flights, you do.

I booked J QF2 with a connection from TXL a few weeks ago. Both legs were in J. Not sure about domestic flights, but I presume the same. What class does come up in the search of the itinerary for the domestic leg?

Under oneworld connecting rules, the class of your long-haul flight determines lounge access for the short-haul connecting flight.

So if you arrive business class, you can use the business class lounge if connecting to economy. Same or separate ticket is irrelevant - just keep your inbound boarding pass to show at the lounge for entry.

Pretty sure all domestic BA flights are economy only (happy to be corrected), but either way MEL_Traveller is right and you're covered lounge-wise

Domestic flights are economy class, but I think there is a 'UK business' fare (or something like that) which comes with lounge access.

There's no business class seating or service on UK domestic, but there are booking codes for business. QF will happily let you make an award booking in J on a domestic flight in the UK, for example.

Yes, all the domestic BA flights are economy but there is that 'business fare' that will provide lounge access as long as you're not departing from LCY, which does not have a lounge. Check out this thread on FT: Business class on BA domestic? - FlyerTalk Forums

Thanks, everyone.

I know that BA domestic flights only have one cabin. I was more interested in seeing whether I'd get lounge access as I don't have any frequent flyer status. All I'll need to do now is time my connecting flight so that I have sufficient time to get from T3 to T5 and have sufficient time to actually make use of the lounge. :-)
