So has anyone booked the new Circle Asia Fare?

I'm planning a biz class circle asia fare from:

PER > MEL > Tokyo > Sapporo > Seoul > Hong Kong > Singapore > Perth

Is there a way to maximise this for SC and stay under the 13,000 mile limit?
What do you guys use to calculate distance?

I may pay a one way fare for PER to MEL if this is over the mileage limit.

Has anyone flown domestic with JAL in Japan? Do they have a equivalent of a QC lounge for QFF Gold members?

I'm sure OW Saphire QFF Gold members can use the JAL biz lounge for international flights???

Any recommendations where to book it? I'm thinking of the Qantas ticketing office in Perth. I don't like dealing with FlightCentre or travel agents.

thanks

I use mileage monkey to calculate the distances - mileage monkey

That is based on the great circle mapper but has some neat oneworld tools.

I read on flyertalk that people have booked these without issue. I am hoping to use one for a SYD-NRT-PEK-SHA-HKG-SYD ticket in May if I can - not sure yet how possile it will be. I did a dummy test on the ita software to compare prices and the cheapest similar fare (excluding the NRT trip as that isnt business necessary but is required for the circle asia ticket) was $7000+++ so it looks good value.

QFF gold / OW emerald can use the JAL Sakura lounges.

Not to bad places for a beer before a flight. Free internet (atleast in the ones i have been in NRT & KIX)

Is there anyway to tweak this routing to maximise SC earn for QFF? I am planning to book a Circle Asia OW Fare in Biz Class.

PER-MEL-NRT-ICN-HKG-SIN-PER (12855 miles and 540SC) - Under 13,000 mile limit.

However, I really would like to visit Saporro in Japan (SPK). I can't seem to work out a routing that will fit in SPK, with the 13,000 limit. This would mean I would book a domestic JAL ticket seperately.

Has anyone here flown JAL domestically in Japan? What's the business class like? Is it comparable to QF Domestic?

It is also important for me to travel from PER to MEL to NRT. QF doesn't operate daily flights from PER to NRT.

The only other option I can think of is booking a 17,000 mile ticket:

PER-MEL-NRT-SPK-ICN-HKG-SIN-SYD-PER (16,966 miles and 680SC)

Perhaps this is more cost effective than booking separate ticket for SPK.

thanks
