Booking backup flights to Europe

You picked up I meant ARN, not ARL (which is in Burkina Faso I think).
What destinations from Jakarta?
Thanks.
Pretty much anywhere on the Etihad network. Even London was like only $2300. That rises to $3100 at peak peak times over Christmas 2025.

But they all go via the Gulf anyway and could be cancelled due to the "special military operation"? Or am I missing something? Good tip though.

Correct, via gulf. But I’d be relaxed about that ATM.

Even when this round broke out, at least QR and EK -dunno about EY - were accommodating pax on other airlines. What’s to lose?

Just checked with Finnair as our onward flight from Doha (after VA1) is via Helsinki to Stockholm in mid August. Well they are currently not flying out of Doha either and don't resume officially until 3 July. Qatar resumes SYD-DOH on 15 June. I note that Finnair says Qatar resumes DOH-HEL on 15 July.
So if one is cancelled the other is likely cancelled as well. I don't know what miracle will occur in the next month for flying via Doha to resume (even though lots of flights are going through there currently every day) but I'm hoping. Otherwise I'll be looking at that route via China again. Only three months out now but zero certainty. I don't really want to book back-up flights to Stockholm as it's a bit of an outlay for flights on which you can get a full refund.

Finnair flights from DOH are covered by EU261. So if they cancel they are responsible to get you via other means from DOH to HEL (could be on QR to another Euro destination followed by a Finnair flight, etc).

Been flying daily for over a week or so
Well that was very quietly done. Every time I checked I kept getting the 15 June story. Finnair definitely not flying the next leg. If you try and book nothing is available until 3 July. Thanks.
