Is the only way to book a business class SYD-SIN-HKG VA codeshare flight on SQ with a stopover in SIN is to call the VA phone reservations number?

Has anyone done this and how did the price compare to say booking on the VA web site for a SYD-SIN-HKG return flight with no stopover?

It will all depend on the fare rules/ fare type you are buying.

Most of the cheaper fares allow stopovers but a fee applies (AUD100-200) . Some of the sale cheap fares do not allow stopovers so you have to buy a higher fare. on top of the stopover fee, there will be additional tax ( around AUD30) for SIN.

The only way to do this fare is via a travel agent or call VA direct as the website does not allow multi city bookings( at this stage)

But the OP is after the VA codeshare flight. One would assume chasing eligible sectors.

Fair enough however, I assume the only reason why the OP wants to book a code share is for the earn rate with points (or as you mentioned eligible sectors) . I have found in some instances that booking direct with SQ is cheaper than booking with VA so it is then a matter of the value of the price differentiation vs. the points earned. Assuming of course there is a difference. I just had a quick look and the difference between a stopover flight (on SQ website) and a return flight on VA website was a difference of approx. $283 in favour of SQ. All I am saying is for the OP to look at all options and then make a more educated decision. I guess it is just me as I always do this for us. Good luck.:)

If I was doing it, I would go and book with SQ, the reason why is that if you phone, the call might go off to the Philippines, ...
No sleigh to them, but I would prefer to do things online, less errors.
You will still earn points and SC (?) on the flights flown, and you can also get the seats you want.
If you book with VA online (Au to Sg), then other ways from Sg to Hk, you don't get the chance to get eg, window seats or up front seats (behind J)...
I booked online for my flight from Au to Nz, on Air NZ, just so that I could have window seats.
It (the system) would not let me check in online, so I had to front up to VA in ADL in person.
Just by luck I got window seats all the way.
Booking the return online with QF flying EK metal, I have also got window seats, (touch wood-all the way window seating).
If you love window seating that is!
