Can I book a hotel room for a friend (not family) using points on the Qantas Hotels website?

I heard Qantas is very strict about this for flights, but I'm not sure about hotel bookings.

Base on my recent exp with Qantas Hotel , all they need is the name of the person staying at the hotel .

The same rules apply for the redemption of any reward through the Qantas frequent flyer program... that includes airline and non-airline rewards.

In all cases, rewards are only supposed to be redeemed for eligible family members.
