Good Morning,

I apologise that this, my first post here, is a fairly naive question.

My wife and I each have a small number of Emirates miles (18,000) each. These points are due to expire shortly and we would like to use them to reduce slightly the cost of our planned trip to Europe later this year.

Where I am having some difficulty is in working out how to use BOTH of our miles when booking 2 tickets (one each) on the same booking. It seems that if I log on using my Skywards number then I can use my miles only. I could do two separate bookings but I prefer to have us both on the same booking for the usual reasons.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

The only option would be to transfer all the points into one account, which would be fine for Qantas accounts, but Emirates will levy a charge for this, negating any benefit.

Otherwise you'll be stuck with two bookings.

Alternatively, can you use the points from one account to off-set a little of the fare, and then use the balance of the other acocunt ot buy any internal Euro flights or hotels? This way you still get the savings but in a different form.
