Already thinking about my annual escape from a hot humid Australian summer to a more civilized climate in France in December and January. I have found a good D fare which I am ready to book right now to ensure a good deal.

However with the GFC - not my beloved Geelong Football Club - I am wondering if fares could perhaps remain stable, so book now, or decrease, so book later. Gypsies with crystal balls welcome but also are those with maybe industry knowledge or experience.

My personal feeling as a TA (and I accept no liability for any loss as a result of my opinion) is that we certainly haven't seen the last of the Business class specials.

With loadings in J down dramatically, I believe QF and the like will certainly have further J specials throughout the year.

Having said that, it's just a feeling based on my experience in the industry, it could come of nothing (which will be a shame because i'm holding out for one!) but only time will tell.

Same here, we have our flights from SYD<=>HKG sorted out for Xmas NY 09/10, and now flights to europe from HKG for that period is quite cheap...
about 1100 return all inclusive with (CX/BA).

If you travel low season it is even cheaper !
and for March CX will do a free upgrade from business to first,
just wondering will they do the same for award flights ? ;)
