24,000 seats on all OOL routes for travel this month.

Things must be a bit ordinary, well they have done the damage in the prior months, no wonder people holding back from booking.
 
Hopefully the death of this horrific operation isn’t too far away. I really cannot fathom how CASA (let alone our workplace regulators) are letting this charade continue.
 
Highly unlikely you will see Flair here again, the cost blowout from this is clearly way way above whatever forecast they originally had.

Word of mouth travels fast especially in the regional areas they are targeting and the brand is toxic now for a lot of people in the affected areas… I think it will be hard for them to come back from that, they may need to do an ultra ultra deep discount apology or something to try and lure people back…

You mean something like a Ryanair $10 ticket for every seat on a flight as a marketing event…

… then it’ll probably be cancelled on day of departure. 🤡
 
The planning here is just so so poor.

So the next drama we are forecasting 3 months ahead, is what is happening with the OOL base after the 90 days? At the moment Bonza does not have any aircraft on the Boeing production line.

A bit of talk about Qantas and the ACCC having a go over phantom flights. Well as far as I’m aware, Bonza has phantom OOL flights after March. I assume they will just cancel the flights, and push people to/from MCY. If they cancel any OOL flights after March they need to be fined.

They have already released the March to September schedule, knowing that Flair then send aircraft back home.

So as far as I am aware, two new aircraft will be arriving in Bonza paint in March, with associated employees based at the airport.

I find that hard to believe as Boeing have no aircraft for Bonza in the near term. They are advertising again for OOL pilots and cabin crew online again.

Let’s say they do have aircraft in the pipeline, relying on Boeing to stick to the delivery timeline is just asking for trouble. Just ask Virgin how many of their MAX’s have showed up on time…

The Flair aircraft sticking around isn’t really an option. CASA would most likely have issues with it, but more importantly for Flair, they need those aircraft back for Canada’s peak season.

They’ve certainly stretched themselves thin launching a third base so soon. If they were desperate to operate to the Gold Coast in the first place, they could have cut the fat from the other bases and operated W-patterns into OOL. It’ll be interesting watching what unfolds once the Flair aircraft leave.
 
They leased some Bonza 737s to a European carrier I recall, perhaps they are coming back.

Getting two new aircraft here in 8 weeks won’t happen when looking at the current backlog. They are still trying to get November builds out the door.
 
This reeks of trying to raise cash to pay today’s bills by flogging off seats for the remainder of the year at stupid prices.

This doesn’t look that great? Or am I too skeptical?

It’s just so stupid how they have gone about all this. REX have been much smarter with their jet play. Setup a new route. Let it develop. Don’t stretch the fleet. Have the best on time performance and service going around and they have slowly built it up. Lock in public confidence on delivery. Bonza have gone in and stretched themselves all over the place resulting in terrible performance and loss of confidence from the public.

It’s sad really, as they look to have some decent routes that if they had focussed on could have grown nicely.

I imagine their forward bookings have ground to a halt, which is somewhat usual for this time of year on any Australian airline (Feb-Easter is the slowest time of the year); but of course this is exponentially compounded by all of the flight cancellations and negative press.

I'm fairly certain they had cashflow issues in December when they were drip feeding the cancellations, I wouldn't be surprised if they're in a bit of strife.
