When I first did the AA Platinum challenge, I received the 100% bonus on the flight that put me over the 10,000 miles.

I will soon be having a "soft landing" to gold, but will quickly reach 50,000 qpoints.

My question is whether I will receive the 100% bonus on the qualifying flight?
(I'm hoping the answer is yes, and that there is no difference between obtaining Platinum through the challenge, or through the normal qualifying criteria).

The answer is yes.I had a prebooked flight on QF earlier this year which put me over the 25000 points for gold and got the 25% bonus so they should do it for platinum. That flight had been booked before they changed the rules on challenges.

I think odoherty is referring to attaining AA Plt the normal way.

I know when a challenge achievement flight has the bonus subsequently applied. I was not aware of this happening in the normal course of attaining status, it seems this does happen.

I believe the payment of the new status bonus is done the same way for challenge completion and for regular status increases. It should show as a separate adjustment on your statement and may take a few days to post after the flight details have posted.

25000 points for gold is the normal way not a challenge.I could not do a challenge as I was on a QF flight.

In my situation, my final Plat Challenge flight was both a normal Gold Qualification flight, and the Plat Challenge flight (see another thread on this board regarding the confusion that caused me!).

I received the bonus on the Gold flight, then an additional adjustment bonus when my Plat status came through.

So yes, I think it still applies in your case.
