HI All

I am a Priority Privilege member. In the past I have been able to use a BOGO voucher for multiple nights, i.e. stay 4 nights pay for 2 with 1 voucher.
I am currently at an Intercontinental and they are insisting that I must forfeit 2 vouchers for a 4 night stay. I am just curious what others' experience is with this as I have been a PP member for 3 years and have never had this request.

Appreciate your comments
Cheers

Hmmm, whilst I haven't used one (I've given them away to members here), I've just pulled out my recent renewal pack to read the certificate.

Front states: "Stay 2 night for the Price of 1"...and underneath "...entitles the member to stay two (2) consecutive nights for the price of one (1) night on the Best Flexible Rate. Same information in the T&C's on the back.

It doesn't state "or any multiple" (ie. 4 for 2, 6 for 3). Therefore they have a point.

Therefore, do you surrender 2 vouchers (assuming you have them) or look at using a 25% off Best Flex rate for the remaining 2 nights (as it does state, "for the duration of the stay". In that way, you stay 4 nights and pay for 2.5

In five years of PP membership I have always surrendered 2 vouchers for a 4 night stay.
The voucher clearly states "This certificate entitles the member or a guest to stay two consecutive nights for the price of one night on the best flexible rate".

I think you have just been lucky with your past experience.

Hi Lindsay

Thanks for your reply, I don't have two vouchers with me but have someone bringing one when she flies over tomorrow.

I am not sure what you mean about using the 25% Best Flex for the remaining two nights and that being 2.5. At this point I am paying for the first night getting the second free. If I post the voucher they will charge my credit card for the third night.

Maybe I have just been lucky, but it allows you to book up to 6 nights at this rate and you only get 2 vouchers so it doesn't really make sense.

Thanks for your thoughts

I think i may be able to help.

It depends on the individual hotel, whether the maximum amount of free nights is 1 or 2. You can find out by making a dummy booking under BOGO (from priorityprivilege website) and click on the link of the rate type. It's the page where they detail the rate and taxes etc. It'll then tell you what the maximum number of free nights allowed is. If you're lucky, it'll be 2 which means you can stay 4 pay 2. If it says 1 then it's stay 2 pay 1.

The maximum discounted nights = 2 is for those with two vouchers in their pack or those taking advantage of the monthly specials, the vouchers clearly indicate that its one voucher per 2 nights, whats the bet the March specials will have IC Syd as a BOGO no cert :D

If you didn't have access to the second "2 for 1" certificate but you had a "25% off Best Flex Rate" voucher; then you use the "2 for 1" voucher for the first two nights, then have a second booking for the remaining 2 nights using the "25% off".

As you have access to the second "2 for 1" voucher, then it's a moot point.

I have had several occasions recently where I have not been asked for any vouchers which has been a real bonus. :D

Conversely, I was recently asked for a voucher for a 10% off rate. Not sure such a voucher exists.....

I find it strange how many desk staff do not have any idea of how it all works though on most occasions that turns out to be a bonus.
