Body Scanners operational in BNE from tonight for International Flights.

I have a frozen right shoulder and unable to fully raise my right arm.

I will not be using the body scanner.

My point is that if I am selected for a body scan I will refuse on medical grounds. There will not be anyone at the security point who will be qualified to assess medical conditions therefore there must be an alternative offered. I will not be demonstrating whether I can or cannot comply but I will simply state that I am unable to comply
The same alternative must also be offered to those who have a moral objection to body scanners.

It was an $1800 camera new a few years ago - not what I'd call "high end" - and worth far less than that now. Irrespective of whether it's $5 or $5000, it's unacceptable that any kind of theft should be occurring within the confines of a "secure" environment like an airport. To get goods stolen in this way out of those areas suggests a quite sophisticated operation involving many people - and significant breakdowns in the security protocols and systems. My point is that this makes a mockery of the screening processes that pax are subjected to.

This thread is about security screening in Brisbane Australia. What happened to you in the USA is not really relevant, given the different screening regimes.

Went through BNE Int'l this morning, and the scanners are on the far right - with only metal detectors on the left-hand side. This means that the priority/Express line now appears to have even more staff cutting the queue as they are trying to avoid the scanners (there were 5 people in front of me in Express, and during that time, no less than 20 staff decided to cut through). Following that, they are still selecting people for the ETD check and pat-down in the Express line. While I wasn't selected, does anyone know if you are able to opt to walk over to the scanner *after* passing through the metal detector instead of accepting the pat down if selected?

Starting to think that it wasn't worth fighting my way into the Express line (QF check-in staff refused to give me an Express card as a WP - wtf?), so it took some time to explain this to the Express path security guard, and I had to show him the WP BP markings twice before he would let me through... I'm tempted to email QF, as the check-in 'dragon' (lol) also wouldn't accept my ID, insisting that it *must* be a driver's licence - despite my ID document being listed as acceptable for such flights on the QF site..., though that's starting to get OT, and I don't want to cough *too* often - don't want a NSFU remark on my profile haha! :)
