BNE VA lounge gets J/Plat area in 8-12 weeks.

Fair enough IainF! We all have our reasons for wanting something.

I much prefer the J lounge. That said, if there was just one lounge and the food and drink was up to the standard of the current business lounge I'd be fine with that (talking Qantas here).

Can't wait to see what DJ offers to WP/J pax.



I'm set to lose my Platinum, so it's going to be a long while before I get to step inside.

I'll still talk to you out in scummy gold-land.......and you missed absolutely nothing with the temp. lounge!

Actually, doing a lounge in the temp area would make sense to relocate the priority screening section east a tad. The stairs are there already, so is the valet parking and counter just drop in an escalator or lift. Do something, do it right!

The MEL lounge on a Friday evening between 1600 to 1830 is VERY hard to get a seat! So a J/Plat lounge there would be great!

Removal of ATA may fix this a little... There were a group of 4 people last Friday night who were talking loudly that they had been there since 13:00 and were still there when I left at 19:00....

Managed to snap this pic from outside - they're pretty good at keeping everything covered up from inside the terminal, but it seems the J/WP lounge will have a warmer feeling, with wooden walls everywhere. There also seemed to be a few opaque plastic 'shells' (at least 6ft tall) on the west side of the lounge, each encasing a desk or workspace area... seems to be designed for maximum privacy :)

Notice that around the middle of the pic, the lounge divides into two rooms... Perhaps the Club on the left, and WP/J on the right (as that part is much bigger)?

Sorry - unable to edit my post above on the iPhone app, but notice that around the middle of the pic, the lounge divides into two rooms... Perhaps the Club on the left, and WP/J on the right (as that part is much bigger)?

Got a good look myself half an hour ago, looks to be around fifty percent bigger than the temp lounge that took the space before it, very impressive investment in frequent flyers if that's the case.

A few questions:
-Will this extension defiantly include two lounges? One for Business and Platinum and The Club or just The Club
-When will the new extension open?
Thanks Brad

Considering 'The Club' is open in BNE, where is it? I'm not that familiar with BNE (I know where the QF lounges are, the CL and the current DJ lounge, but I do recall a boarded up area between the DJ Lounge and the QF CL when I was there a month or two ago).

We just know that there were some people enjoying Oysters and Bolly in the BNE Club ;)

You walk through the sliding glass exit doors opposite gate 41, and instead of walking down the stairs or using the escalator to exit the sterile area, you walk straight ahead across the walkway in the middle (removing the rope/lane barrier that blocks this area off). At the end of the walkway are two white doors disguised to look almost like a wall to those that don't know what they're looking for (but with the word 'private' on them). Through there is the Club ;)

Haha I doubt anyone on AFF would actually try and go in if they weren't entitled to access... and at worst, they'd just be turned away :p

I figured there was no harm in sharing the location - many on here would just recognise it as the same space that was used for the old temporary lounge haha :)
