I need to understand the possible routes from BNE or SYD in premium economy or a decent priced business class fare.

I don't really have any loyalty to any particular airline FF program.

Cheers

I would have a look at Finnair as a start.

Finnair gets my vote.

I travel to Norway quite a bit. And you can usually pick up a Finnair J fare for about the price of QF whY+

edit: just googled Kirkenes, wow that's really north :) Not sure about the internal flights to get you there, but definitely look at Finnair to get you to Oslo.

Just did a quick search on expedia, on a random date in April.

BNE-OSL J return on AY = $5192
OSL-KKN whY on SAS = $215

Not sure what your budget is, but that's a pretty comfortable way to get through a very long flight.

edit: by comparison, the cheapest why+ fare is on BA (blech) and costs $6076!

When we went BNE-Longyearbyen we went j.AY use QF for the BNE-SYD-BKK leg. Then it is AY BKK-HEL-OSL.We then used SAS to Longyearbyen.Flying out of BKK AY use their newer plane which in J has staggered seating 1-2-2 alternating with 2-2-1.loved the hard product and service.Food was not so great but acceptable. If it is in your budget I would second choosing finnair.
There also are some good reports about Norwegian-a random date in April brought up a low fare of $A174 return OSL-KKN.

I've flown Norwegian whY OSL-EDI and it was perfectly sufficient for a journey of that length.

Aren't the single seat rows awesome?

I usally try and find a fare that has me on CX to HKG and then AY HKG to HEL.

Thanks for replies. Very helpful

Sorry about absence of dates, I need to be on the ground week commencing 13 th February
