Hi

We are planning to go to Bangalore (BLR) in India for a conference, and then wanted some holiday in India and to visit family in Tokyo, all in September/October this year. Our specific route would be:

BNE - BLR 13-14/9/13
BLR - DEL approx 21/9/13
DEL - NRT approx 2/10/13
NRT - BNE approx 5/10/13

We are getting a bit old for all Y, so we were looking for some PE or J class, particularly on the long overnight legs.

Have looked on the MH site and yatra, and their prices seem to jump enormously as soon as we try to add the Japan leg, even in Y, and far outside our budget if trying to find a J fare.

Can anyone suggest a routing that could fit in a budget of $7k pp, or possibly chew up some points on a JASA, if such a thing existed on any of those legs?

Thanks for any ideas.

Hey ahl01,

If you dont mind hopping airlines, i have found these flights on the dates you have requested.

All well under your 7k pp.

1987 bne to blr in PE - cathay
or
3102 bne to blr in J - Malaysian

718 blr to del in J - jet airlines

857 del to nrt in J - malaysian

1200 nrt to bne in J - jetstar. I have included luggage here as you have to pay separately for this. Also consider jetstar as they are from experience not a bad longhaul carrier and J is pretty good for the price. Pm if you'd like more info

It will be cheaper to buy separate tickets.

BNE-BLR / NRT-BNE in J is $4,200 on MH

BLR-DEL is $718 in J or $93 in Y for a <3hr day flight

DEL-NRT is $1,120 in J on MH or CX (or $857 on China Eastern)

You could look in to a OW Circle Asia ticket routing something like BNE-KUL-NRT-BNE (note you could add more sectors, and have a longer trip, i.e. to HKG or China etc) and just buy separate return Y/J ticket from KUL to India.

Thanks for all these suggestions, and apologies for not replying sooner - I was called away suddenly and now away from home.
I like the idea of the OW Circle Asia and will look into it, but I suspect aikman's solution of separate tickets will win the day.

Will respond further after I return home.

Thanks for the advice on this, it was the best fare.

Would you please PM me your details.

Unfortunately, we will not be going as we now have some chemotherapy to deal with, but hopefully a colleague will be able to use the advice and make the trip instead.

Thank you all for your suggestions, and we should now close this thread.
