BNE Rex Ground Staff Caught in Cook Out

Slow news day for Rex it seems, but it is widely being reported that 2 Rex ground staff at BNE airport set up an electric BBQ airside and enjoyed some burgers and sausages during their break:



I won't comment on the set up other than to say friends don't let friends use a hot plate to warm up meat.

Rex for their part issued the following statement:

Further, and most importantly, the individuals were on an rostered meal break at the time and no flights were affected as a result, two key facts that were obviously not known by the individual who posted the video with captions attached.

What are your thoughts? Should BBQs air side be permitted? What about passengers who want to prepare a turkey dinner after clearing security?
