DELAYS are expected at Brisbane's domestic airport terminal over the next week as a pay dispute continues between unions and a Qantas contractor.

Electrical Trades Union organiser Garry Rogers says Qantas contractor BCS Infrastructure Support will lock out its workforce at the airport for a week from 6pm (AEST) today.
Mr Rogers says the lockout is the latest development in a bitter dispute that has included strike action.

From their website it looks like BCS are the company who operate and maintain the automated baggage handling systems in a lot of airports. I wonder how much of a delay this would really cause? I would guess the system would be largely automatic and these guys would be needed if something breaks down.

Just what I really need travelling up to BNE now with checked luggage.

And I have not even bothered to read what their dispute is all about and it could not be more important than me receiving my luggage on time....

Hear hear. These militant unions have way too much power. Hopefully people wake up and remove the Union Party from power at the next election and we can have a pro-growth party.

Things looking pretty normal at BNE Qantas domestic this morning. No long queues. People seem to be checking in fine. All flights leaving on time.
