Hi all. Hope an expert can help me decide.

Flying BNE - PER on Sunday in J. My timings mean I can pick one of two flights. First option is a late morning A330 with the 'workbench' middle seat config. Alternatively an early arvo 737.

I haven't experienced this particular A330 config so I'm asking you: which would you pick? I'm certainly not banking on a tail swap to the business suite.

Thanks :-)
Stevo.

330 for sure.
737 is nice if you don't have any other option.
I have done 737 J transTasman, nice, but didn't have a wide body option to get to WLG.
Go the 330 for sure mate.
BUT if they do an equipment swap to a 737, then you have no choice, but paws crossed you book the 330 and do get the 330.
I have done the 330 from PER - SYD with VA, much better than a QF/VA 737 in my pov.

Always 330! But I'm biased against all the 737s to KTA.

The odd chance you'll end up with a new config 330 is worth it for that alone.

I would go the A330 with the approx 11:00am departure; QF651, flown it a few times now; mostly in J, the J on the ex Jetstar plane isn't great but its ok.

Good cabin staff can make up for a coughpy plane, have a look at this post for pictures.

737 is a lottery as to if you will receive personal IFE or not, if you count an iPad (and that is only EBD) the 332 is not.

Thanks. A330 is a clear winner. I forgot the IFE guarantee vs the 737. 5hr+ will certainly involve a movie.

If I get a miraculous equipment swap to the new config I'll be sure to report back.
