The hotel also does a very good "Plane Spotter" special where you get $50 towards either a very good dinner or breakfast and a small pair of binoculars to watch the takeoffs a landings--great if you're into that sort of thing. The hotel is a very short walk from the international terminal stop on the airport train line.

the member number that appears on the email confirmation from that Rydges is the same one I log into the PGR site with - begins with an R and has 7 digits. However on the account dashboard, my member number shows as a completely different 10-digit number, so there's something odd going on.

Did you recently join GHA via the link on the PGR website? I had similar issues when I did that last year. You may find the 10 digit number is a GHA number.

FYI we found Rydges really good and free shuttle useful from dom terminal to hotel

Good to know the shuttle works, but I've never bothered as the train station is right at Rydge's end of the terminal. Rydges is great for a (horrible) early morning departure.

I've eaten twice at Blackwattle Grill at Rydges Sydney Airport and I've had two wonderful meals. I highly recommend the lamb for 2 , if it's still on the menu

No, but I did have a GHA account which I signed up for several years ago (and completely forgot I had, as I only ever used it once) and yes, that's what's causing the problem. I've received a reply from Priority Guest Rewards customer service and they said they're aware of the issue, and it's the GHA membership number that's somehow "overriding" the PGR member number on the account, and they are working on trying to fix it. As I was able to make the other booking without any problems a few weeks ago, I can only assume that their system only recently identified that I had a GHA account as well (albeit unused) and it's since been merged with the PGR account which has caused the current problem.
