RAF?? Goes looking for a Nimrod LOL

A military exercise with RAF Aircraft will affect flight arrival/departures today. Airservices forecast ave 30 min delays.

There should be an announcement permanently on display at BNE which reads;

"Airservices forecasts ongoing delays at BNE due to BAC's inability to undertake the most basic planning and build basic, fundamental airside infrastructure for aircraft. Delays will affect arrival/departures until early 2022, We would apologise for the delay, but honestly don't really care and its not in our interest to fix it any time soon. "

Something to think about for the cynically minded. Think about the extra 15 to 45 mins extra parking added to time to the 100's of people who park each day, its got to be a win win for them. They don't have to spend on major airside infrastructure and they make more and more from their extensive car parking cash cows, sorry infrastructure..

And the pax with the extra 45mins to spend in the shops/cafes airside.....

Spare a thought for the airlines that pay for the fuel to circle around while waiting for a slot. It's going to affect ticket prices sooner or later :(

And for a change did not notice many delays yesterday. My flight on time for a change. Waiting to pay for it later.

The variety of shops is extremely poor in my opinion. What else could you sell in a domestic terminal?

I was surprised that my flight from DRW last Friday came straight in without waiting. A bit of a back-log on the way back the next day though.

Scott.

Still looking for that Nimrod, the Nimitz class carrier at the Port blocks the view a bit, might be a few delays at certain "establishments" until the weekend ;), 6000 American sailors are having a bit of a party.

The nimrods are easily found on the BAC board, clearly ;)

1/2 hour delay coming in from Mel last night. Spoke to some pilots last week who are of the opinion that bac could fit a lot more flights in but are just plain incompetent.

Bit worries that Pilots might be confusing ATC and BAC.
