Points depends on how you book it.

Personally (if chasing skyward miles and status credits) I would look to book two PNR's. First BNE-AKL-BNE to position yourself there and back to BNE after your flight up and back to DXB.

Second would be a multi city booking and as a flex fare, AKL-DXB-CMB-DXB-AKL. In Y flex this is $2,600 NZD & 23,700 SC.

CMB is about $3k cheaper and almost double the miles ex AKL than booking DXB direct and adding CMB as a hidden city and doing the seat time is well worth it. Even in J flex it is currently $4,600 NZD to fly vrs $8,000 NZD ex AKL return. Also is just shy of 42,000 SC

If you wanted to, you could book it that you did your Tasman runs separate to your DXB flights, like a weekend or two before and after to simply do a day of status running, but does cost $100 in extra taxes.

Hope that helps and is what you were after.

Also if you were not wanting to fly to CMB and were not interested in the cheap J fares that CMB offers on EK ex AKL and set to fly Y, then CDG is the same price as CMB and delivers an extra 2k SC.

The main attraction of CMB is the price of J fares as a hidden city ex AKL.
