BKK - SYD how screwed are we due to Jetstar dissapearing

Does thai airways and star alliance have any "paid" ways to access J (without buying tickets direct). 6k would net me close to 400k points with QF and generally gets me 2.5 return business flights to BKK A year.

Worth checking out both Aeroplan (Air Canada) and LifeMiles (Avianca). Plenty of info on these here in relevant forums. A BKK-SYD return using lifemiles could cost as little as about $1800-1900 AUD return.

The closure is quite frustrating. I have travelled to and from BKK a few times now and JS Asia was so convenient. Maybe I need to do the straight Sydney > BKK with Jetstar. Which sounds absolutely terrible lol

There's also JQ BNE-BKK 3 times a week which is increasing to 5 times a week shortly if I'm not mistaken.

@JessicaTam would know I was the biggest JQ critic but I find them ok if your expectations are not high. Wife and daughter think the same if we sit together and selecting seats is inexpensive.

Dreamliner economy is a nice product. Much better than the new pre-reclined A350 product every airline is ordering.

Hoping to be able to secure award seats for September 2026 trip to Thailand but that's never easy.
