When BA9 and QF2 were transiting it was standing room only (in both lounges).

Thanks for the photos Serfty. The lounge looks quite nice, and at least there is a view.

I was in BKK for JQ30 on 15th April when the JQ Honolulu fiasco was taking place and our flight was delayed until 12.15am. After about 10pm, the J lounge was quite cluttered and then when both BA10 and QF1 landed, it was just a mess. There were families standing in aisles and people sleeping on the ground. Interesting impressions indeed.

At this stage the First lounge still wasn't open so maybe this has eased the congestion slightly.

Thanks Serfty, looks just like the J lounge..... I will be through there this Sat on BA9, so I can check it out. I just missed it opening by a few days last time in BKK.

Nice pics - just wish the lounges had been open in November ;). It is ridiculous that both lounges dont have the capacity for two flights :( I guess this is a vote for OW lounges rather than Airline specific - well except for the Wing/Pier of course ;)

If you are there, hope the the plumbing doesn't clog up as happened while I was there.

Are there bins provided in toilets for disposal of toilet paper? In the TG lounge at BKK bins are provided beneath a sign requesting that "tissue paper" not be flushed down the toilet.

Having now visited the airport i can tell you i hope it never becomes popular airport ! terrible IMHO. Not many shops, huge walking distances, lounges are very avarage. (I can't beleive the national airline Thai has such avarage lounges !, i was on an SQ flight out and they use the Thai lounges)

It's a pity, because the Thai lounges at Don Muang were quite nice, I thought.

I'll be visiting Suvarnabhumi for the first time in August, so I'll let you know what I think.

My itinerary will be SYD-LAX-SFO-NRT-BKK-DPS-BKK-NRT-SFO-LAX-SYD. It's the long way round to Bali. :D

Mixed Y/C Star award. A lot of flying in 10 days...

Hi,
Not that there is really anything wrong but the food is no better than QF singapore for example, in my opinion anyway.
I just expected a more like CX in HKG type lounge given the national carrier main airport.

I thought the main Thai J lounge was quite adequate and large. I have not seen the F lounge though. The check in facilities for Thai J and F certainly rival most in S.E Asia, and after checking in, entering straight into the lounges is a nice touch.

Arhhhh ok, fly TG you enter immediatly, straight down the ramp, but if you fly SQ you enter at the other entrance, into the terminal and walk along then up and to the lounge. Good to see they treat there partners well in allocation of terminal space ;)

Oh well maybe i just had an off day when i was as there. Seems alot have had better impressions and expereinces.

Same if you are travelling on TG in Y as a *G member. The *G check-in is in different area to TG J/F check-ins, and you take a different entry and have to walk along and up into lounge (although IIRC, not as far as when coming from SQ checkin).

I have to agree Jason, I did J to Europe on Thai last month and whilst didn't think much of the terminal on the way over, when the lounges were a bit crowded, on the way back I found them to be adequate, and compared to Lufthansa's awful J Lounges in Frankfurt, they were excellent.

On level 2 there's not much shopping and I was wondering if I was missing something, but if you head upstairs one level you'll find a large foodcourt and more shopping than you'd know what to do with, though most isn't of the best value for money, it keeps one occupied on the layover.

Overall compared to some terminals i've experienced i'd give it a thumbs up and definately refreshing compared to Don-M.

Hi all,

I travel to BKK roughly on average once every 2.5 weeks using QF 1/2 and BA 9/10. When the new airport opened I found (even though they never advertised it anywhere) that CX lounge was open and available and was adequate, except no toilet facilities. Now that QF lounge is open on Thursday on way back I am interested to see how good it is.

At least back in Sep last year when opened the stupid lounge pass they gave me was horrnedous, thus I managhed to find CX and get in there.

Same experience on Saturday night just gone...... I would have thought that with the A380's coming on line next year, which will increase their premium cabin capacity, that the lounges would hvae been bigger.

Also CX have two lounges, almost identical opposite each other on concourse G. Both are signposted they are business/first lounges. I had heard the first lounge built was a temporary lounge... I do not understand why there are two, on the same concourse, both business/first (no segregation). Ohh well, I guess they know wht their plans are!! I am just happy getting in.

Not sure about the mixed F/J lounges but i know why at either end, it takes soooo long, its a huge walk. Next time i am in BKK i will try the CX lounges, last time i was in TG as i was flying SQ.

I have been in the CX lounge twice now and in my opinion is nothing special. It is small and not very quiet. In a separate room there are about 8 PCs, partitioned, and a small area to sit down. The food area is very small with 3 bench/bar areas, one against the wall with the food and drinks, one in the middle to sit on uncomfortable stools and one against the window again with uncomfortable stools. I have only been there at lunch time and there is not a great variety of food on offer, mainly sandwiches, but is OK to have a couple of Heinekens or Singhas before a flight.

Next time, as a QF Platinum, flying out with TG in WHY I will visit the new QF F lounge. I think I should have access as Platinum not flying QF.

They are within 30mt of each other on the same concourse, so no huge walk..

Don't rush, you're not missing out on much....I only use them because the QF F lounge is not open first thing in the mornings.
