Nice! Pity I'm not able to get to BKK (with 2x Asia trips planned for 2017 already), otherwise I'd jump on this!

Yes, it's a very good deal, particularly if you want to go to LAX.

However, I don't think I'd like to spend 16+ hours in a QR 777 business class seat in 2-2-2 configuration if flying alone (I've previously flown TG J class JFK-BKK non-stop, and it was mind numbing).

Don't get me wrong, I like QR (particularly the 787's and 380's), but for about half the price you can sometimes get 500 SC's for CAI-BKK-CAI, with entry to the QR 1st class lounge in DOH on the DOH-CAI leg.

Though BKK is somewhat easier to get to than CAI (not too bad with a 60,000 mile SYD-CAI J class redemption from Mileage Plus), I would usually include this as part of trips to Europe, which I prefer to the USA these days.

Just my take on it.
