I am planning a couple of months cycling in China in 2015. When finished, I plan to fly to Bangkok, and rest up for a couple of days before flying home to Australia. My bike will be packed in a standard bike box commencing Chengdu. I hope to leave it at Suvarnabhumi while I am in Bangkok rather than drag it to and from my hotel.

I understand there are two left luggage counters at the airport, which are located at Level 2 Arrivals, and Level 4 Departures.

I would appreciate some advice on which is the appropriate storage location to use.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers

I have used both locations and either location is acceptable.

I usually use the one at arrivals as I am in a hurry to get out of there where as I have plenty of time when I am departing.

I will have the same dilemma in ~4 weeks time. I will play a game of golf in Bangkok then head off to Chiang Mai and Hong Kong for 5-6 days and when I return to BKK it will be taxi to hotel so the logical place would be to take golf clubs down to arrivals before heading off to Chiang Mai.

Thanks JohnK

If both are equal, it makes sense to use storage at arrivals.

Thanks for the very prompt reply.

Enjoy your golf.

Worth noting that BKK is one of the cheapest airports to store stuff! MEL & LHR is probably the most expensive. SIN and HKG are resonable....

Hi Leadman

Agreed, 100 ThBt/day storage is very reasonable.
It would cost more than that for the massage required to remove the knots from lugging a bikebox around Bangkok.

Sydney's (and presumably Melbourne's) wrapping service is also quite expensive compared to BKK. In July 2014, I had my bike panniers wrapped at SYD airport ($15), and again at Suvarnabhumi in August on my way home (just $5).

And there's WiFi...
