Beware flying Virgin out of Adelaide during frosty winter mornings on first flights ... Both Melb and Syd flights have been severely impacted this morning as a result of Virgin in Adelaide not having de-icing equipment. Either Qantas planes don't get ice or they have the equipment to deal with it, as the QF flights got out on time.

The funniest part was that both Mel and Syd flights were boarded before they decided to boot customers off to wait whilst the ice thaws... No sun yet so could be sitting in the lounge for a while yet ... There's not exactly many options out of Adelaide on a good day!

In the Lounge right now too here in ADL, a Zoo, barely a seat anywhere...
I wondered why SYD/MEL/PER were all impacted.

I'm not in the air til 9am en route to BNE. Wondered how the 6am got away?

Same here in Melbourne Qantas no de-ice truck Audio Message.amr

I've taken early morning flights from ADL for a few years now and never experienced this. First I've ever heard of an issue like this there
