Just had a bad experience with EK/FZ codeshare. Returning from Europe on QF/EK we booked a side trip on separate EK ticket to Muscat, Oman. All went well linking our booking BRU-DXB-MCT, baggage booked right through and QF Gold baggage allowance recognised. But when we came to return MCT-DXB-SIN-DRW problems arose. Found we were on a EK codeshare FZ (FlyDubai) flight for MCT-DXB sector and FZ refused to connect our EK ticket to our onward QF/EK booking, and to add insult to injury charged excess baggage for the MCT-DXB sector. It got worse in DXB when we arrived in T2 and could only transit to T3 by taxi. I'm sure had we been booked on EK metal MCT-DXB we would not have had these problems. Moral of the story - avoid EK codeshares other than QF. Be interested to hear other traveller's experiences of Emirate codeshares.

I generally try to avoid codeshares as often there are inate issues. If things go wrong, they can be worse.
