Sorry if this has been covered before, but my searching couldn't find it.

I have a QF booking in discount Y, SIN-SYD...MEL-SIN, which when I booked it was operated by 333 aircraft. It has now been changed to a 332 both ways, so my bulkhead seat in row 24 has disappeared, leaving me in a regular seat in row 24 (the bulkhead row now being 23 and unavailable).

On checking the seatmaps / Seatguru, etc, I can't readily find a seat that would be OK for a night flight. Seat 54F has been mentioned, but in respect of an old configuration aircraft.

Any advice/suggestions based on your experience would be appreciated.

24 is fine for a night flight as you can stretch your legs out (can't do at the bulkhead), have often seen the centre seats empty on SIN sectors so be ready to pounce....

Thanks for that. I guess I'll stick with row 24 then.

24G on A332 is bulkhead. I have that pre-allocated for SYD-SIN early next month.

The bassinets are 23B, 24D and 23J?

Do you know if you're on a refurbished A330-200 for the SIN-SYD sector? QF5/6 is currently being operated by one of the 2 remaining un-refurbished aircraft most days.

No idea. Sunday 05 March late afternoon flight if that helps.

If you're on QF5 (the 17:15 flight) then it's showing as an unrefurbished A332 currently. Not sure what this means in terms of seating as it's been years since I flew on one of these, but something to keep in mind I guess.

I think it means that 24G is non bassinet bulkhead. Mission accomplished. Now hope no further changes to aircraft type.

This wasn't my preferred flight but wanted to get away that day and the connection via BNE to the late night EK flight was ridiculously priced.

As a QF WP I can generally select from any seat.

Oz to SIN/Asia day time I select Bulkhead.

SIN/Asia to Oz, overnight I select one seat back from bulkhead.

I was nearly caught out this week when my A332 flight was subbed for an A333 and my 24J seat for SIN-MEL overnight became a bulkhead seat.

(became moot as I was switched to an EK flight with a seat behind the wings [!] as the A333 was delayed over 12 hours.)

I'm flying on one of these (a refurb 200) again on Tuesday. Seems fairly lightly loaded (O9), but most of the 2-seaters have filled up towards the front of the aircraft.

23 A/B (bulkhead) are unoccupied, but are "X"ed out. Is it possible for a WP to request one of these?

I am currently holding a window seat in row 24 (with adjacent seat occupied). Just wondering if it would be better to select a middle aisle seat with an empty seat next to it? What thoughts?

The leg room in row 23 is quite poor. Much more in a normal row.

When I next travel on this plane in Y I will choose a middle aisle for the leg room and for the chance of an empty seat beside me.

At 182 cm I can handle the bulkhead rows for day flights but not for when I want to sleep. If you are any taller then avoid is my advice.

I recently took an row 24 aisle seat and was able to get them in the MEL Flounge to put a block on the seat beside me (lightly loaded flight).

Thanks for the advice. I think I'll go with the middle aisle for now, and see if anything better comes up while in the Flounge.

I am flying to Beijing on an A332 and was wondering, are seats blocked out for crew rest? If so, does anyone know what seats these are?

Front row A/B/J/K (and sometimes second row) on A330's normally only seem to be available for prior selection for the WP's unless a parent with an infant.
SG's normally choose seats in the next few rows behind and watch the WP's get offered the early drink....

Going a D or G seat might let you end up with an empty seat next to you if loading is light, seems to work that way on the BNE/SIN route.

These 200's seem to be everywhere when it comes to Asia flights - my last 3 flights have all been 332 aircraft and the seats in Y are certainly less comfortable than the refurb 333! When are these being refurb'd/retired?

Any thoughts on 24D on the refurbished 332? It's a bulkhead seat, not sure how the legroom is. I have that allocated for my flight on Sunday.
