I'm hoping someone can recommend the best way to use Le Club Accor vouchers. I'm going to be in London for 4 night's in April, a week after Easter. If I book now I have to do so at the full rack rate so that I can use vouchers on arrival. This is 30% higher rate than if I were to pay ahead by credit card. I'm guessing it won't be too busy at that time & was thinking I might just rock up and grab a room cheaper on the day. This way I can use the vouchers at a cheaper rate. Has anyone tried this. Does anyone recommend it? I'm checking in April 5th.

I used vouchers this year in Monte Carlo at the Novotel. It was slightly more at the normal rate (however keep checking for sales as Accor have sales all the time) than if I had of pre paid, but used the vouchers upon check in and ended up being cheaper even after the pre paid discount. I wouldn't risk getting a room cheaper on the day

Slightly OT, but I redeemed vouchers in USD (the website was either EUR or USD) and used them in Melbourne ... Was surprised when I paid the room after our stay and they are converted from USD to AUS $ at the hotel currency rate. So instead of parity I paid at about 0.92 /USD.... Ripped of by thier own system ...

Why not make your booking now at whatever rack rate, which is flexible and able to be cancelled upto 6.00pm on the day of check-in. That way you have got a room booked if needed, then every week or so do another booking search and if a cheaper flexible room comes available you book that and cancel the previous one. I do this regularilly and it usually works out about 20% cheaper by the time your trip starts. Then you can use your vouchers when checking out
