Yeah fair call Ben6.

Is J on the A330-300 any good?

That's my biggest gripe with SQ! They are angled lie flat, while comfortable, it's not very good for overnight flights. And if you want a window seat, then you have the problem of climbing over your seat mate. Yet they charge the same or more as the A380/77W seats ex-SYD/MEL

Any good? yes, better than some 2-3-2 sliders. But worse than 1-2-1 fully lie flats.

I'll be travelling with my wife, so have to double the mileage costs... She has a spare 20k miles after booking the F leg, but we can't really do anything with them...

It must be - VAG loves it! :D

Hahaha! LOL! You know me so well! You read my mind.

Nah, honestly, I will take the A330 J over any PE seats, and over many J seats arranged in 2-3-2. The problem with SQ is they set the standard too high. So they basically shot themselves at the foot. Ben from One Miles at a Time wrote a good article on it

"Must work harder for better results" "Still room for improvement!" Go SQ!

Yes, that's why I said extra ~$1000, as it will be US$483 x 2. But if your wife has 20000 miles spare, then you really need about extra ~30000 miles for 2? So extra USD$630?

But can we book separately and still get seats together? I'm fairly new at this whole booking reward seats thing...

Yes. All you need to do is go online and select seat. You can also call SQ to link the 2 bookings together.
