I'm plannign to get over to south america nxt year, and also to get up to USA again (maybe even canada if the budget stretches far enough)

I've been looking at teh One World Explorer fares but they dont seem to quite fit my needs.

Is there something out there that would let me go from Australi to south america, city hop down there (prob just BUE, RIO, Santiago, MEX) then up to USA and back to Syd?

thanxs for that. the 29K mile circle pacific fare seems to be what i need, but it seems to indicate that surface trips also need to be added to the mileage so I might need to pop into a TA and see what my options are.

glad i'm too buggered after 12 hrs at work today, so at least i wont be spending any money going out tonight  save save save

We did a DONE4 which included South America earlier this year and needed to supplement the included sectors with additional flights in order to see only a fraction of what South America has to offer. Be aware that flights within South America are fairly expensive and there are vast distances to cover.

Last year we bought an open jaw BNE-LAX-JFK and SCL-AKL-BNE (QF/QF code on LA) and filled in the middle with side trips:

JFK-CUN-HAV-CUN on MX bought as individual sectors
CUN-DFW-SCL on AA (QFF points ticket)
SCL-AFO-SCL-EZE-SCL with a South America Airpass - it was reasonbably priced.

Lan's website has quite clear info about the airpass.
