Hi,

I need to fly around the Australian (State and Territory) capital cities to interview some people in each city for my PhD studies.

Is there any ticket (preferably Qantas as have QC membership) that lets you fly around Australia stopping for a couple of days in each city? To show my age there used to be a 30K FF ticket where you could travel around Australia and stop over multiple times but I know that doesn't exist anymore.

Or is it just a matter these days of buying all the segments individually and there is no discount for multiple routes? When going from East to West and return business class would be nice too.

Thanks for any and all help,

Dale.

You'll just be best off buying individual segments these days. The old multi stop J award tickets are long gone (went around the time AN went). We've moved away from excursion fares (which IMHO is actually a good thing).

You could of course buy a fare and upgrade using points if you want to do east-west in J.

You are not always best off buying individual segments depending on your travel plans, if your a frequent visitor to Asia you can often nest an airpass in between trips that offers significant savings, I often do SIN-BNE-PER-BNE-DRW-BNE-SIN for $900 odd, something of a tour of capital cities comes up close to that:

If you dont go to Asia often it wont work, but there are good savings to be had.

Where is the website for AirPass? Never heard of it before.

I'm actually vision impaired so sorry can't see your graphic file you inserted. Where can I find out more about this pass?

Thanks,
Dale.

Sorry its so small for you, the airpass can be purchased online at Qantas using the Singapore website. Needs to be part if an international itin.

Between the Tiger $10 fares and the Jetstar 10 cent fares this week, if the dates matched for you you could have got a few cheap trips out of that... Not business class though...

Even for an emergency I won't touch Tiger. Emergencies only will go with Jetstar. Have been burnt by Low cost carriers and the extra stress just isn't worth it.

Hi,

Just thought of another solution - use the AAdvantage OneWorld Explorer distance based award and buy the points needed with a good sale on points. Qantas normally has good availability for domestic award seats and just need a second OneWorld carrier. When in Perth I could take a Malaysian flight to KUL as probably one of the shortest distances and the best availability.

Then should be able to do the whole trip in business at a good price.

Any problems you can see with the idea.

Dale.
