Hi Y'all,

Can anyone help me make a decision? My partner and I are going to Malta & Italy in May 2012 it's a holiday so I"m looking for value! Would prefer OW airlines - have done Emirates route before and loathe that Syd-Dubai flight. Current thinking is to book a cheap economy (currently approx $4K + purchase of exit row seats) into Frankfurt as all Qantas flights at least give QC lounge access at all ports and will earn some SCs and points. I also have 350K QFF points which I am ok to burn but doesn't seem much point to do that when the economy flights are cheap and I don't have enough for PE. I also could book the Sydney-Asia leg on points then just pay for the Asia-Europe leg but it doesn't seem like it's a whole lot cheaper, the only benefit would be that I could fly into Rome or Milan on Cathay.

Just wondering if you gurus out there have any better ideas or should I just book the Qantas flights and stop thinking about it?
