Best travel mode for getting from Hong Kong to this destination in southern China?

Many thanks everyone! I am going to try to get the car option for a reasonable price - because I know as of today also have product samples of knives to take back and they may not be too happy to let me on the train with those...

Edit to add - trip.com came in at AU$183, so with the savings on train fares it makes it about $140 more expensive than the trains x2 from Shenzhen to the airport. It says allow 75 minutes for the trip - I've no idea how realistic that is.

How big are the bags? I would just catch the taxi from West Kowloon Station to Airport for say $300 hkd? There is dedicated taxi rank there.

I recently used Trip.com a couple of times to book airport pickups in China (less than A$30 at PEK (to/from) and pickup at XIY. Quite happy with the service and price. I couldn’t work out how to book non-airport transfer and I need to get to Kay Tak cruise terminal later in the year. The link above was quoting US$114 from downtown HKG…😳.
I've used Uber in Hong Kong for a trip to the airport from a Nathan Rd hotel and it wasn't much more expensive than the airport train.

Sounds about right. It is quite a long way around by road. Timing can depend on how quick the border controls are, which can depend on time of day, as well as normal traffic considerations.
