Best SYD airport hotel?

Stamford has great rooms but restaurant/bar was shut last month when I went through. Also great status match from other programs. Now linked to Best Western.

Rydges my pick for international.

Hi all

I have to book a bunch of people into a Sydney airport hotel just for the night as we bump out early the next day.

Ideally one walking distance from domestic terminals. People staying are fit cats so won’t care about a 15 min walk or so and will have very light hand luggage only.

Want the best hotel possible ideally (these people aren’t used to slumming it!) but well aware everything close to the airport isn’t exactly 5 star.

Only other pre-req is that it has good sound proofing. I’ve stayed at the Mantra and the sound proofing was terrible.

Thanks for any thoughts - would be super helpful.

PS Has anyone stayed at the Citadines??
hello! I didnt stat in Citadines, but my friend did. He said its nice, so maybe u should think about it. good luck!

How did you get to/from the Pullman and which terminal?
You can walk to Pullman from Domestic; about 15 or 20 minutes.

I stayed in Citadines and liked everything but for the fact that I found hair strands in the drawer where they keep the iron, hairdryer and kettle ...

There is a shuttle to all these hotels for $7 per person, which is good for a solo traveller or couple. It is put on your hotel account. Or walk 10 mins, as Citadines and Pullman are so close. For families or groups there would be better options such as taxi and Uber. Now to hear how Jake moved his mob.

Is it one bus that services multiple or each hotel has its own? Any idea how frequently they run? Finally, since it is charged to your room, how does that work with airport pick-up? Do you need to pre-book?

One shuttle but does many hotels in the area. You ring the Shuttle Service to book on arrival pick up, but the driver gives the chit to your hotel to bill your room. You book pick up with your hotel, they bill your room and you give a chit to the driver. Super Sydney Shuttle (02) 9697 2322. $7. They seem pretty frequent, but I would be guessing every 15 minutes or so during busy times.

There is another shuttle service, Jim, that drops at city hotels or Circular Quay for $15.00. An excellent service.

I don’t stay at SYD airport hotels (living < 20 min drive away) but I was surprised just how many there are now, especially over the domestic terminal. I did a morning T1 dropoff earlier in the week, my GPS suggested an alternate route home to bypass morning peak traffic and took me past the Pullman and surrounding hotels.

That side is relatively close to Mascot train station, so easy access to the city if you have time as well train to/from Dom T2/3 or Int T1.

BTW, before you decide to walk from T2/3, check the next 350 bus. It departs from right outside QF arrivals and goes past the Pullman and HIE etc before heading east on a very circuitous route to Maroubra, Coogee and after an hour or so, Bondi Junction (I have a stop around the corner but pass on that one! Although I imagine backpackers love it).

Late to the party but Citadines for me. Grabbed a premium room through QF for the points last week. Quiet, clean (ish), short stroll to the domestic terminals.
2nd vote for the 350 bus, a hidden gem.
