Hi everyone. A work collegue is flying to L.A shortly with partner and other family on V Australia in Premium Economy.

What seats should he aim to secure in order to maximise the experience??

Are the Bulk-head seats (row 10) worth trying to aim for??

All comments re past experiences welcomed.:)

When I travelled Y+ on VAust in 2010 it was as part of a couple & row 11 A & C worked well for us. Close to the loos without any noise worries & easy to walk around when I needed a stretch. I didn't really notice any drawback for row 10 (yellow in seat guru) other than the different storage that goes with bulkhead & they do enjoy more legroom & on our flight no lines for the loo.

We flew to LAX in Y+ on VA. Over in row 11 and back in row 12 I think. They were fine. If I did it again I'd have a crack at row 10 only because it would be easier to get in and out of the seat without a reclined seat in front of you and you get a nice little cushion for a footrest instead of the t bar attached to the seat in front.

Just remember that you cannot reserve Row 10, only gets allocated at checkin (unless you have an infant on your booking then you can reserve it as the bassinet hooks into the bulkhead). I didn't know that you can get row 10 at check in until we landed back in Oz as the guy I dealt with at the V call centre when I rang for seat allocation told me it was taken when he should have said held until check in as we didn't have any infants either way.

Cheers,

Boof

Travelled PE last year with them. Seats are all much the same. I am more comfortable in the Jetstar Starclass seat.

What I didn't like was the web site hype does not relate to the service. The free bar which they say is accessible all flight was none existent. I wasn't looking for alcohol just a drink and a nibble after I woke up. Nothing there I just thought all the others had been there cleaned it out and I had missed out. Our return trip LA-SYD took more notice still the same situation. Don't think you can just sit around having a chat you not welcome.

BTW the disco lights on arrival did nothing either.

With all the hype that VA carry on with its was a big yawn and I have no further interest in flying with them again.

BTW I still have not received all the FF points which I'm entitled and thats after 4 goes of asking. Now their asking for my paper work and the booking was direct. - Should I refer this to the Dept of Fair Trading in NSW.

I flew in PE to Johanesburg from Melbourne... Seat 11 H was fine, close to the loos but not too busy... Unlike the previous post, the bar was fully stocked for the whole trip.. Had a nice chat with the FA... Noise canceling headphones were great and comfy seats a real plus... Again, unlike the previous post, the points were credited immediately (in fact I received an email while in South Africa that the flight had given me Silver status, so I also got the silver points bonus on my flight home... ) all in all a great offering and will be flying to Paris and LA this year and definitely using VA....

As for the headphones the ones we were given were too tight and unsuitable for a person that wears glasses. Tho - I do have my own headset which I use.
