I dont know if any flying nerd can advise me of such a thing.......:)

Im flying Emirates with a 22month old from Bris-Dubai, then Dubai-London Heathrow.

I didnt want to buy 2 (nearly)full fares so ill be taking my 22month old on my lap, god help me.

I've booked a bassinet for her even though shes clearly way to big and isnt going to use it but i figured the seats near the wall where they hang the bassinetts would be pretty good seats, would that be correct?

Now looking at the seating plan on the Emirates website im thinking that it might be better to book a 'normal' seat, im thinking one of the two seaters down the back, and hoping that they dont put anyone next to me and ill then have 2 seats for me and the toddler. ( I think its seat 40B)

Sooooo, just wondering if anyone can help me on which is the best seat to book in my situation.

Much appreciated!

Great! Thanks for that!

Forgot to mention that the Bris-Dubai-London-Dubai route is on a Boeing 777-300ER and Dubai-Bris is an Airbus Industrie A340 Jet.

I travelled longhaul with my children as babies. I found Emirates cabin staff generally very helpful. I booked the 'bassinet' seat and then moved around a bit when the plane wasn't full. Sometimes the bassinet area was full of babies and mine wouldn't settle with so much to see and hear. Also with my second baby who was a rather noisy traveller, I moved around to give various sections of the plane a break. If it does become challenging, just remember that it does end. Also my children are 11 and 10 now and absolutely love travelling so it was worth it. Good luck.
