With EK / QF proposed tie-up and/or the volume of EK flights to Aus, I thought it appropriate to start a thread for best seats on the EK fleet.

Any opinions? Any "hidden treasures"?

Good thread, I have had a couple of colleagues fly them in J and apart from the A380 they reported that the J seats are sloping on all the other flights they took and even a couple of recliner type seats on the MEL KUL DXB flights.

I don't have much of a good word to say of EK J (i.e, I wouldn't pay $6,000 for it), although I will say that ICE digital widescreen is an absolutely phenomenal entertainment system; so many options. Then again, QF's isn't bad either.

Apart from A380 the seats are all sloping lie-flats or the occasional recliner. I did get decent 3 or 4 hours sleep in the lie-flat though.

question about EK A380 in whY, on seatguru it says the last rows in whY have limited recline. Anybody flown this and can confirm?

Having just got off an EK flight from Istanbul. I can say that I believe the best seat in J on an A380 is the rear seats near the bar. Nothing better than the Mile High Bar on a A380. On a B777-300ER I like the seats just behind the galley, you don't get ignored.
