Got to say I am pretty impressed with how Starwood handled my claim and how easy it was to actually lodge via their eform

Found an amazing rate on some obscure booking site. Logged the claim at 11.00pm last night, received an email around 3am this morning saying it had been approved and providing some simple instructions for me to complete the process. Net result, a $600 saving off an already discounted price for my 3 night stay.

Yes, it was "AMOMA.COM". Just had a quick look on Trip Advisor and there does seem to be quite a few people with concerns however that didn't impact me as I didn't book with them. Still, Sheraton recognised them as genuine obviously otherwise my claim wouldn't have been approved

Good on you for getting amoma approved! Most other chains won't accept BRG from them so you are doing well.

As for other sites that have lower rates to the hotel it depends on a number of factors such as season, type of hotel and a bunch of other factors

I've enjoyed many BRG successes with SPG over the years. What I like about SPG's claim process is you can submit a claim prior to any booking, then once its approved you book through SPG and submit your confirmed claim number so they can amend your booking.

I've tried using other chain's BRG or equivalent claims where I had to book first, and then ultimately had to cancel quite a few bookings because they would deny the claim.

Did the exact same thing late last night, also using AMOMA. Can't complain getting the Westin in SFO for half the advertised rate! First time dealing with SPG and I'm very impressed.
