So I'm getting a few for Christmas presents and haven't bought fragrances for a while..

Does anyone have any good recommendations on buying (genuine) perfumes?
I won't be flying until after Christmas so I won't be able to get any DF...

Looked at Strawberrynet which seems to be a lot more expensive than I had previously experienced a few years ago.

Otherwise mybeautyspot.com.au can be $20-30 cheaper and there is a store near me - which I'd guess is the same as the online price.

The other one that a google search gave me (via getprice.com.au) was mysuperdeals.com.au, again which is $20 or so cheaper than some of the others I've seen.

Thoughts?

fragrancex.com have never let me down and there are usually $10 off promo codes floating about the interweb. All genuine products (as far as I can smell)...

I find Discount Drug Stores have good prices on fragrances during sales.

And they participate in Amex shop small. Picked up a few bottles in a different stores early November.

From what I have seen they are always cheaper then most other places sale or not, but they tend to stock the more main stream brands so if you want something thats new or 'designer' brand they dont often have them

I agree with JohnK, check out the local discount chemists - I gave up buying duty free perfume quite some time ago - the pricing of my favourite, Opium, was significantly better at the chemist (especially during November!). Worth a look. :)

Chemist Warehouse. If it's good enough for Kim Kardashian....

I work around this industry so just a couple of things to consider.

Discount drugstores / chemist warehouse (and strawberrynet actually) have all been stung for selling counterfeit perfumes and colognes - I'll add not knowingly - but because of their procurement process they are exposed to this. You can have a google around actually what goes into the counterfeits and it's quite scary...

They also buy large quantities of short code product from saturated markets overseas which means you are getting very aged product that actually should be destroyed because the smell is starting to turn.

Designer fragrances like RL, Armani etc actually refuse to supply these chains in AU directly because of their safety and procurement processes. The stock you see in there from many brands is aged or worse.

So just be aware there is a price to pay for your 'bargain'!

I used to buy them through ebay (Australian sellers). They were cheaper than the big departmental stores.

City Perfume online is pretty good and there is an Amex discount code.

Interesting what you say pauly7 as I have purchased from a chemist warehouse and thought the product was not quite right. Assumed it was just my imagination.

Thanks everyone, I ended up getting one from mybeautyspot (store, same price as online) and one from mysuperdeals (online, based in Sydney).
Boxes are all sealed and look as original as from say Myer or DJs...
