My wife and I are flying out of BKK for Sydney tonight, the final leg of a six week trip to Europe.

We are flying economy with Qantas, so normally we'd use the Qantas Club lounge. However, I have Marco Polo Gold now which entitles us to use any of the OW lounges I believe.

My question is whether any of the other options (Cathay, BA, others?) are significantly nicer that the Qantas Club and worth visiting tonight instead.

Thanks

If it's a choice between the business lounges, then the QF one isn't bad. Try the CX one next door if you want to try something different.
The CX lounge around the corner on concourse D is a shoebox though. The Sakura lounge was forgettable and the other non-OW lounges vary, the Thai Royal Orchid lounge RJ uses was the best for food in our experience.

Recently I have stuck the QF F lounge when it first opens and have had the place to myself for an hour or more but the view from their J lounge is nicer.

Qantas lounge is still the best option. Much bigger and there are no toilets in the CX lounges.

It is all a matter of opinion. The TG lounge that RJ uses we consider the worst lounge food we have had in BKK unlike others. The QP is a good lounge though often crowded. We usually use the CX lounge at concourse D.Yes it is a shoebox which means those in the know dont use it.We can find ourselves alone there at times.

The Qantas Business lounge should be more than OK.

The Cathay lounge is OK as well.

Give them both a try as they are not too far from another.

Thanks everyone for your advice - enjoying the Qantas Business Lounge now. There is also a 'Louis Tavern First Class CIP' lounge that Priority Pass should give access to, but not sure we have the energy for too much lounge hopping!
