Seeking some advice on an unplanned trip to the UK (funeral). Will probably be travelling PER - LHR - PER with roughly a 5 day turnaround, and wish to make the trip reasonably comfortable (in Y!) by using the lounges along the way.
I have an ANZ Frequent Flyer Black Visa Card, and I know this gives me some lounge access. I also have the 2 complimentary Qantas Club invitations at my disposal (also through ANZ).
At the moment I am looking at flying with Emirates PER - DXB - LHR (cheapest option at $1998 return). Will I need to make sure I book this with a QF flight number in order to use the Qantas Club invites? I was planning on using 1 invite to access the QF lounge in PER, trying the ANZ Black card in DXB and LHR, with a spare invite to use along the way if required.
If anyone out there has any suggestions for better/optimum use of the lounges, feedback would be gratefully received. If anyone has a 'favourite' seat on this route (777-300ER PER - DXB, A380-800 DXB - LHR), and if it is worth trying for an exit row along the way, again advice would be gratefully received!!

Sorry to hear about your need for travel at this time.

Have you posted in the lounge meeting threads? Lounge Meetups for 2015

They are also for people seeking admission as well as those who have space for guests.

I think that's a good suggestion. I am not certain what the Visa Black gets you into, but your QP pass will be only really valid at PER. It won't get you into the BA or EK lounges unfortunately and QF have no own operated QC's at DXB or LHR for you to use with the guest pass sadly. At least as far as my understanding of the T&C of those is.

Hopefully kind souls can get you into the DXB J or F lounges or at LHR.

I echo the condolences on your loss and the reason for travel - specially at this time of year.

Thanks RichardMEL

The Visa Black apparently gets access to the DCA Business Class lounge in DXB, and the Servisair Executive Lounge at LHR. No idea what either are like though.

Hmm the DCA DXB lounge appears to be in Terminal 1, and your PER/LHR flights will likely (but not always) use T3 so there would be travel between terminals involved. Depending on transit times it may not be much worth it.
