Does anyone have any thoughts on good policy that fits the above?

We will be 68 days from home to home and most multi trip policies only cover to 37 or 60 day maximum trips.

Fortunately our current insurer is willing to refund the balance of our current policy.

QBE has a provision in their multi-trip cover that allows you to extend cover beyond 60 days on any particular trip. You do need to contact them for a quote on the extension and it may be too pricey for your needs, of course, but may be a place to start for comparison purposes.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

My Covermore business annual multi trip policy has standard options for maximum duration of 30, 60 or 90 days.

They also have a leisure travel policy, not sure if that does 90 days or not. When I compared premiums for business Vs leisure policies with exactly the same paramaters, the business cost was about 60% of the leisure one!

I once had to claim on a stolen laptop when away; the claim got handled OK, so no complaints there.

Last year I had an annual TID policy that allowed me to pay for extra days over the 37 that were covered.

This year I have purchased an annual NRMA policy (also available to auto club members in other states). The price was extremely competitive and I chose cover for 60 days with nil excess and it also allows us to travel separately.
It would be interesting to see if they allow extra days for an additional payment too.

Not sure if you have private health cover but if you do why not give them a ring.
Only the cost of a call plus some of your time.

I have never used this company nor am I associated with them in any way so you need due dilligence. I was told by an associate that they are very good to deal with.

I did however type in a dummy quote for somebody aged over 60 and travelling for 75 days and there seemed to be no problem.

Edit to add: Not sure why my link may not be working but the company name is Insure and Go
