Hi
Hubby and I will be traveling to LHR early next year. Are there any seat that are 'better' than others on the A380 and the 787?
Had a quick look at seat guru and row 10 or 12 E and F seems ok on the A380. Possibly row 9 or 11 E and F on the 787, but happy to hear your comments

I would take the A380 because it also has the social area/lounge. Also if you get upgraded, the F class is the best in the world.

We are already booked. 787 to AUH then A380 to LHR. Just wanted some advice on which seats to book

As a couple, 12 EF are the ones to go for. Row 10 is a bit close to the bar/lounge (noise). Be aware that CDGH seats on a380 face backwards... Haven't flown 787 so can't offer much advice on that.

Have you had your flight yet, Heg? I'd be interested in your thoughts on J seats on the 787!

Partner and I doing looking at 12E/F on the A380 out of SYD, but not sure about the 787 coming back to PER. Maybe get both of us window seats each for a change, and enjoy some time apart too? ;)

On the 789 in F only seats together are row 1D/G which face forward or 2D/G where your feet point to the back of the plane, strangely enough I prefer the latter. When I have to rough it in J we prefer 7E/F and then 9E/F
You are closer together and a foot in from the Isl. again very close together which makes it hard to sneak a couple extra reds.

We leave BNE 19th March. I'll keep you posted... :)

Hi Heg - we are booked EY on their 787 out of Perth in September, a two class flight. Your thoughts on seat selection?, leaving at 1730 and arriving 0030 means windows are not so important. Are the window seats a mixture of forward/rear facing? TIA

BNE -AUH we had 11 and F . Rear of the cabin, forward facing middle seats. Loved them. Loos are at the front so no one walking by. Night flight, and beds were very comfy. Thin mattress topper but still slept well. Pjs and slippers are provided on this flight as it is 14 hours.
AUH to LHR was the A380. We had 16 E and F. Middle seats , forward facing. Upper deck. Daytime flight, so Windows may have been nicer but we wanted to sit together. Advantage of the forward facing seats for couples is that the seats are away from the aisle ( as in the storage is on the edge nearest the aisle) and you are closer together. The rear facing seats have the storage in the middle , so the seat is right on the aisle, which means folk are brushing right past your legs when they walk up and down the aisle. Not great on an overnight flight.
Overall- we loved Ethihad. Service was fab. Meals were great( we are vegans so special meals were booked and were good and very tasty) a d will happily fly them again .ha

yes- window seats are a mix of forward and rear facing. Rear facing are furthest from the window as the storage is on the inside....

Thanks for the update! Glad to hear you enjoyed 11 E/F on the 789... I must admit I'm worried about babies in the row behind in Y, but it otherwise sounds good.

Does anyone has thoughts about 6 E/F on the 789? It's the last row of the forward cabin (so the second of the 2 rows of J). Not sure if the proximity to the toilets and galley would be bothersome?

In fairness , those seats were all that were left in the centre when we came to book. I wear earplugs when I sleep ,so not usually bothered by babies...;-). Loved the fact that no-one was walking by to get to the toilets...
