Best Hotel you have stayed!!!

Stayed in way to many both domestically and aboard to call out a single one. If I work on the principle 'I remember staying and would I go back there' the following spring to mind, in no particular order:
  • Most Conrads
  • Kinugawa Onsen Sanraku, Japan
  • Shangri-La Harbin, China
  • Hilton Shaigatse, China
  • Leofoo Residences, Taipei

A few standouts in my experience

Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi oozes grace, class and service. The Belmond Hotel das Cataratas (often simply called Belmond at the Falls) - within Brazil’s Iguazú National Park, and directly adjacent to Iguazú Falls - got a front suite where you could sleep to the sound of what I consider the most impressive water display globally.

I don't believe you can beat the Mandarin Oriental in Honkers for consistent and detailed service. The MO chain and Capella must both be up there in all categories.

Staying at the Capella and Kimpton shortly in Bangkok - as a city, it punches above its weight for luxury, high-end, awarded hotels.
Let me know what you think of the Capella, it’s on my hit list in Bangkok. But have not pulled the trigger yet.

Hotel Wailea in Maui. The grounds and rooms were immaculate. We stayed there for our honeymoon and it was amazing. Service from
Everyone was first class (typical Hawaiian culture but 100x).
