I haven't been to Dublin since 2008, I'm looking for a very nice hotel centrally located. Any suggestions? Is the Westin a great hotel? I have enough SPG points to book 2 nights there, but the classic rooms apparently only have a view of the atrium inside the hotel lobby:shock:

The Westin is in a great location. Ive never stayed but have been to a few functions and the bar on several occasions, great vibe in the place. I'd stay if I had the chance.

I stayed at the Morrison last month...great location for all the touristy things incl Temple Bar!

IMHO Morrison is best bet for hotel in Dublin - location is superb - so central you can just walk to all touristy destinations if you want. Literally 100mtrs to Temple Bar - but you need to cross the Liffey to get there - once you cross back across of a night it is like being in a different world to the wild part scene of Temple Bar = just weird how our every night in Dublin started and finished with a drink in Temple Bar - it is entertainment central.

Morrison is a Double Tree so it is 4* - but they are very bright stars. We booked a Junior Suite which was huge - service on ALL levels in Morrison was equal to service level in any hotel I have ever stayed. As diamond full breakfast without hesitation and breakfast was superb. Omelettes were to die for - proper fluffy omelettes as opposed to those rubbery things they cook in the little skillet in front of you in most hotels. I could not recommend it more highly.

I would also recommend the Morrison - stayed there this time last year.

I've stayed at the Westin - really nice hotel. Very comfortable and very close to everything (Temple Bar, Trinity College - and not too far from the Guinness factory!)

I had a standard room which did have an external view - not much of a view though, just over the rooftop of the building out the back. It's not a hotel you stay at for the view.
