Good morning all,

I've been doing a lot reading and noticed people have done some quick turn around flights for all matter of reasons and it has got me wondering about the the weird and funny reasons for a quick international flight. Personally I have flown Sydney to Vegas for a 4 night buck party, only stopped in LAX for an 1hr each way and also flown Dublin to New York for a sandwich (sounds ridiculous I know, My wife and I love New York but the Rueben sandwich at katz deli was the primary reason to fly there for me). My best mate had to fly Singapore-Paris for a 6hr business meeting which I thought was a good trip, so as stated above, whats your best story.

Thanks, Dmitri

Flew to NZ to join a All Black rugby tour with Sir Graham Henry to watch the wallabies get thrashed. We were the only two Aussies in a plane of 200+ kiwis and the pilot announced we were only to have water and they ran out of beer. Ever been in a confined space with kiwis and the free beer ran out?

Flew to Auckland for dinner. Was my birthday dinner and it was a LAN flight, before partner earn was " enhanced"

CBR-SYD-LAX then a couple of hours of driving to Palm Springs for a halloween party one weekend.
From my front door to the front door of the condo in Palm Springs was 24 hours.

Had so much fun I would do it again in a heartbeat. (And am hoping the stars align again this year... :D )

Vegas for the weekend from Sydney, left Friday back Monday. Grabbed a jumpseat ride from LAX to Vegas and back on Cactus.

Have a relative who flew MEL-LHR (arr c5am), had a day of meetings, then back to lhr and on the 2200 departure home that night.

Yes, he flew F.

MEL-LHR for the day to get suit fitted for Nieces wedding as I was giving her away. (all in economy on a BR Fair for under $1100.00)

MEL-AKL for a few hours to experience shower on EK F :)

MEL Honkers last weekend flew out Saturday 23.40 arrived 6.45 am and left 19.10 after doing lounge run with AFFers :)

MEL-LAX arrived picked up urgent goods re entered and flew back on same plane :) In F

and ofcourse several MEL-SYD-ASP same day return to get status credits :) OOOOPS Sorry they weren't International but felt like it lol

Sydney to New York to get a document signed ($1bill+ takeover - not mine!), turn around and return. In the 90's when a faxed signature just wasn't good enough.

Brisbane to Auckland. Overnight for a 'Taste of Aria at Euro' dinner. Took me 2 days to get over it when I got home.

Santiago to New York to see a concert that night, fly back the next morning.
Santiago to Washington to submit passport renewal, fly back same day and then same trip again to pick up 2 days later.
Montreal to Sydney to sign sale of my house, fly back next day.
Sao Paulo to Montreal to sign purchase of my house and fly back to Sao Paulo same day.
Montreal to London to see an old friend for dinner, fly back next morning.

Few years back did SYD - LHR - NYC - LHR - SYD - SIN - SYD - NYC - LHR in one week to close a deal for a client. Thankfully was in F for most of the long legs

You peeps make me feel a lot better about 72hrs in Tokyo BNE-SYD-NRT-SYD-BNE for brief conference and 8 michelin stars worth of dining.

I got a lot to learn from you all! ;)

MEL-AKL-SYD with a co-worker flying in from sydney to watch the Springboks vs All Blacks last sept.

2345 Arrival Fri Night. 6ish PM Departure sunday arvo.

Nothing compare to you guys it seems!

That has basically covered the reason for any of my short turnarounds - "I'm hungry".

Oh and another one I was going to a conference in Singapore but had on a previous trip left a bottle of Alcohol at my aunt and uncles in Hong Kong so Flew MEL-SYD-HKG-SIN-HKG-SYD-MEL all so I could retrieve it ...

Oh and the flight was actually cheaper this way too

Now don't you all go calling me a tight cough lol

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Next time I'll put an invite out - solo dining at Joel Robochon can be a little boring. :)

And ohmygod the food was amazing in Japan...

Earlier this year I flew MCT-DXB-MEL-PER-DXB-MCT, with 5 hours in Melbourne to do an occupational/pre employment medical.

In 2008 I flew MAN-AMS-HKG to propose to my girlfriend (now wife), and spent the evening there and flew back.

When we lived in MNL, we used to fly to HKG for dinner and a night out fairly frequently.

Then done lots of ridiculous travel for work, but I wouldn't include that in the best.
