Yes, they may refund fees, and have gone to great pains to say they'll do this - but you know full well that it'll be a fight to make happen.

I'm not talking about refunding fees at all. Fact is NAB do not charge an overdraw fee. They abolished this some time ago. I have never been charged interest when I've overdrawn my account regularly over the last 6 months. Again no need to ask for a refund IME they don't charge a thing.

Of course when they did charge fees I had no problems getting a refund. Even a single email to ask if there was threshold of negative balance when the fee wasn't charged got a fee refunded. But then I do owe them a lot of money ;)

Nice idea in theory - but this hasn't been the case for myself and countless other NAB customers I know, have conversed with or seen postings on via twitter in the last few days.

I'd love to know what they have charged you. There is no overdraw fee so it can't be that. The latest mess has me $3000 overdrawn and as of 1700 today there have been no interest charges put on my account. But then they don't normally charge me interest for being overdrawn.

On Sunday opening, I think the fact that they did open branches on a Sunday because of this problem is a good sign. Maybe inconvenient but since the lack of money is such a big problem surely you could have gone into the main Perth branch.
