I spend at least $1000-$1500 a month on gift cards on Qantas Marketplace (mainly Woolies and Amazon). Does this qualify for the "2 points on select Qantas products" that a few cards advertise? Any of you doing this? Feels like if they do give 2 points on these GCs then I might as well try to get those extra ~15k points a year right?

It's a mixed bag. Often cards t&c will say it's airfares only, but in practice it may differ.

You would need to weigh up the benefits of getting gift cards this way versus getting them for a discount elsewhere. I guess it depends what value you put on points.

So far, has been counting as Qantas spend for me with Qantas Money and ANZ.

Only use the GCs for Woolies and Amazon, where there's no discounts ever. And those are my two biggest monthly spends

Thanks let me check!

I was meaning getting discounts buying those gift cards elsewhere, but wouldn't earn any more points than standard points for spend on your Credit Card.

There are websites that provide details of deals where you can get gift cards at a discount for a promotion.

I have the AMEX Qantas Ultimate card and it absolutely does trigger the 2.25 points per dollar on spend, with each gift card also earning 3ppd for a total of 5.25 points per dollar.

Even better, it's uncapped unlike the 1.25 on standard spend which caps out at 100K points total

Some people may have access to discounts of greater than 4% on these cards anytime but I don't. so it's well worth it to me.

There are no discounts on Woolies GCs ever or anywhere, at least none that I have access to

Great! Thanks for confirming :)

Woolies currently have 4% off the Everyday Wish eGift Cards via the Everyday Rewards App. However, still worth buying via Qantas Marketplace for me. 6.25 points per dollar using Qantas Money Titanium card (3 points Qantas Marketplace + 1.25 points domestic spend + 2 points Qantas spend). Buying via Everyday Rewards would give the 1.25 points plus 0.5 points from everyday rewards, so net additional points via Qantas Marketplace is 4.5 points per dollar. Depends on how you value Qantas points though.

My Qantas Plat MC pays 2 points/$ on Marketplace GCs
Bunnings GC very good for me with 3+2 QF on the GC then 2.5 VF (via Flybuys with Onepass) when I spend it
Arrive within 15 mins IME

Oops, apologies @mviy I was not aware of this discount going on, there aren't any going on usually for Woolies and Amazon. Might as well get this for now while I apply for a proper card. Thanks @cartz, yeah I'll likely go for 5 points per dollar after this promo runs out

Wouldn't it be 7.25 points/dollar if you add that final 1 point you get from Woolies? (Assuming you have Everyday Extra)

Yeah, true, will be 7.25 points per dollar once spending the gift card at Woolies. But will get that final 1 point however the gift card is purchased.
