Hi,

Just wondering if there are any benefits at all flying Aer Lingus with/without BA Codeshare as SG or WP?

I know you earn .7 FFP per mile on Economy. BA Silver/Gold also receive lounge access at both sides.

Thanks.

If just from UK to Ireland then BA will offer better service. But those flights are mostly circa 50mins so not much difference.

BA will obviously offer lounge at LHR, but it's a good 10 or 15 minute trek from the lounge to where EI depart.

Benefit: pilot to pax as we reach top of climb...

Ladies and gentlemen, we will be crossing the coast shortly, out over the Irish sea... Climbing to a cruising altitude of turty tree towsand feet. Weather in Dublin is wet, cold and windy... What did ye expect, Lanzarote ?

Free IFE !

Haha, nah was more interested in Baggage, Check-in, seating, lounges etc with/without BA code. There are many destinations that are not covered by BA. Also, I think they now operate from T2.

They seem to be half a partner, with little info on QF website.

Last week VIE-DUB I got zip for QF Gold on Aer Lingus without codeshare number, although my FF number was in the booking. Changed it to BA Gold for DUB-VIE and still got squat, but that was probably because I was running late and not able to use anything that would have been offered. Although interestingly they did offer to check some of my carry-on for free at check-in, but I can't say if that was triggered by a Gold benefit or not.

I haven't actually used EI since about '09 but I was QF gold at the time and recall that it was worth very little, even baggage interline failed EI to QF and I had to change terminals then recheck in LHR.

Did BA more recently and QF status was recognized, albeit, I was in J so didn't really need it.
